A few weeks ago, I got to celebrate one of my friend/classmates with a baby shower! So exciting! When she announced the news to us (back in January!), we devised a plan to surprise her with a baby shower! Months later, we successfully pulled off the surprise! We had our own little Party Planning Committee that put it all together (shoutout to our PPC!!!🥳🎉). Here are some things that helped us throw a spectacular baby shower:
Decorations
Amazon came through with the cutest jungle/Safari baby decorations! 🎈By the end of blowing up balloons, I was about to pass out LMAO… so be careful 🤣 The mama-to-be went with an animal and eucalyptus green theme, so we decided to follow along with that as well. And don’t forget the sage green colored paper plates to bring the theme together.
Food and Drinks
Speaking of paper plates, we decided to go with a potluck for the food and drinks category. Everybody brought in something to eat or drink, such as simple finger foods, fruits, chips, and this delicious cake! One drink that someone brought in was a non-alcoholic watermelon and lychee drink. The drink was nice and refreshing for the spring and summertime!☀️. The Instagram video that inspired the recipe is down below and linked here.
Games
The first game that we played was “Baby Pong.” It’s kinda like a carnival game. There are different sizes of diapers on the board and then you toss in a ping-pong ball to accumulate some points. Cute, right? Additionally, we had a little chugging contest. First, we filled up small sippy cups with apple juice, made a toast for the beautiful mama, and then chugged! 😄
Gifts
Group cards are always fun! Also, we were able to sneakily peruse the baby registry and get a big gift together amongst all of us. ❤️ As an added surprise, our professors came to make an appearance. How fun! We love getting together to celebrate our sweet mama-to-be!
