Happy International Women’s Day! In honor of this special day (which should be celebrated EVERYDAY), I decided to ask some women in my life (family, friends, and co-workers) what piece of advice they would want other women to know. Women supporting women over here! Surely, these lovely women came through and DELIVERED gems of advice. With this in mind, here are some words from wonderful women in my life that I hope benefit you as well for International Women’s Day:

Know your worth. You are precious. Don’t fall prey to the lies that make you doubt your value–fight them. Remember you are a masterpiece, a treasure.
Know your worth and the worth of the person beside you. Treat them with undeserved kindness. Forgive them. Forgive yourself.

Always remain soft despite how hard this world can be.

Life is tough, but you are tougher. Work hard, work hard on yourself to grow and be the best version you can be. When you get to the top, don’t forget where you came from and how far you have come.

Take time to listen to your inner self. We are under so much pressure to look a certain way, wear certain clothes, and work hard to be the best at everything.
When under all the pressure to live up to everyone else’s standards. it’s easy to lose yourself. So, my advice is to find some time to shut out the outside noise and listen to the voice within. Create a life that feels good to you and that brings you happiness.

Use the 3-minute rule: Before giving feedback or making comments about others, think if what you are going to make an opinion about could be changed in the next three minutes. If it cannot, it is better to keep it to ourselves because sometimes we make opinions or judge others by their size, the way they dress, their career, or life that cannot be changed in mere minutes. That opinion might ruin their day, week, or therapeutic process.

Who you spend time with matters. Surround yourself with a community of people who laugh with you, cry with you, but most importantly love you no matter what.

You are made for a purpose! So, get to know yourself and don’t be afraid to try new things.
