So I decided I wanted to add a little pizzazz to my room and create some wall art. I went to the store and found a simple frame and wondered what I should fill the frame with. A lot of the other decor I have in my room is pretty colorful, so I decided to go on a classic, black and white route for this next piece. The perfect black and white subject was the elegant Ovation 1862 Balladeer guitar. I had a mini photoshoot with the guitar and here is how I created the elongated photo wall art.

Like I mentioned before, I wanted to add an elegant photo to my empty wall, but the biggest photo paper I had available was only 8.5″ x 11.” I decided to “elongate” the photo to fill in the 11″ x 17″ frame. I used photoshop to resize and crop the photos. Then I printed two versions of the same photo but from different crops using a special glossy 8.5″ x 11″ sticker paper.

After printing all the photos, I gathered the rest of the materials to create the wall art. I didn’t have enough black construction paper, so I had to cut and paste the papers to create a nice little frame around the prints. As a result of the construction paper, it will show the unique shape of the print.

Later, after MUCH trial and error, I was able to line up the prints correctly and stick them down onto the poster board to create the art piece.

Here are all the materials I used to create the wall art:
- Photo Frame (11″ x 17″)
- Glossy Sticker Paper (8.5″ x 11″)
- Poster Board (11″ x 17″)
- Tape
- Construction Paper
- Paper Trimmer
