Behind The Scenes: Katelyn’s Senior Portraits (Class of 2017)

Here’s a fun, little throwback blog post of a special senior portrait from 2017! Katelyn was one of the first friends I made when my family moved to Virginia. Almost 20 years later (!!!), we’re still friends (what a blessing!). Back in our senior year of high school, I had the privilege of taking Katelyn’s senior photos. Let’s take a journey back to 2017.

First, we began the session by going to a little park in the neighborhood. While we were scoping out the place, we saw some nice floral notes sprinkled around the neighborhood. As we walked some more, there was a small playground that was hidden away. It was such a cute little playground that was secluded and made for some whimsical photos.

After our time in the neighborhood, we drove over to our elementary school (our old stomping grounds 🥹). We walked around the back towards the trailers and then went over to the playground. Katelyn is a volleyball player, so of course she brought out the volleyball.

Here are some of my top three favorite photos from the entire session! I had to add the fun playground photos, along with the beautiful pink flowers from the neighborhood. The playground tunnel photo is super unique with its composition and you’re able to see Katelyn through it.

Here are some linked products I used during the photoshoot:

Canon 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM Lens

I also had to add in a throwback photo of the both of us! Here’s little Katelyn and Pauline, circa 2006/2007.

This was such a special senior photoshoot. It was so nice to go back to our old stomping grounds, hang out with a dear friend, and take portraits of this gorgeous person! What a fun senior photoshoot throwback. If you’re interested in booking and collaborating on your own senior/grad photos, you can find and contact me here.
