Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day is filled with lots of love and joy! Over the weekend, I decided to do a quick little video shoot and editing. It was going to be a Valentine’s Day themed shoot, but I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. I was looking through some stuff that seemed “Valentine’s Day” I decided to experiment with shooting through the props! In addition to experimenting with the pink props and glass, on the editing side, I played around with the opacity and the overlays on Adobe Premiere.
Here are some things I used during this shoot:
- Philosophy Amazing Grace Ballet Rose Perfume
- Glass Bottle
- Stem Glass
POV
Instagram has such a fun feature where you can add music to your reel posts. “POV” by Ariana Grande is the song I chose for this piece. For the first footage, I was moving the bottle in a downward motion in front of the camera. The bottle had a label around it, so the really dark parts (where you can see my dress more) created this cool, almost film-like effect! As for the second footage, I was just standing in my little black dress from Fashion Nova. I utilized the zoom and pan feature on Premiere, which created this illusion that the camera was moving vertically, even though the camera was stuck to a tripod!
Real Thing
This next piece is based off of “Real Thing” by Pink Sweat$ feat. Tori Kelly! For the record, I’m OBSESSED with this song! It’s such a beautiful song! I have the Philosophy Amazing Grace Ballet Rose perfume, which adds the perfect pink color for this shoot. In order to capture the pink color and the reflective nature of the perfume bottle, I spun the bottle around. In comparison, I am in the same little black dress and twirling around just like the bottle. Not the most creative piece tbh, but I still wanted to work on creating a nice overlay with the footages.
Easy
Lastly, I used the song “Easy” by DaniLeigh. This last piece is a little homage to a work I did during high school. We got to use different glasses and food coloring. It was super fun getting to create the pouring and splashing effect with the food coloring, water, and glasses. To add onto the pink props and glass theme, I poured the pink drink into the glass to create a pouring and bubbling effect. The second footage is me “cheersing” the camera LOL pretty straightforward!
On that note, cheers to a great Valentine’s Day! Hope you have a wonderful day! Click here to check out last year’s Valentine’s Day playlist!
