Happy New Year! Here we are in 2023. I started my 2022 year by writing out some goals and resolutions, which you can find here. Out of the 6 goals and resolutions, I successfully achieved ONE, which was number 2: “Upload at least one blog post every month.” WOO-HOO!!! However, I did work on trying to maintain a work-life balance, drink more water, get more steps in, and change my mindset. I also have a story idea to self-publish for next year (hopefully!!!), which I am super excited about! It wasn’t perfect, but I was definitely proactive in hitting my goals.
This year, I want to continue to work on goals and resolutions from last year. I want to make sure I have creative goals and personal resolutions to set-up my 2023 year.
Goals
Upload One Blog Post Every Month
I tried my best to upload at least one blog post in 2022. This year, I want to maintain that again and keep myself motivated. With school as my priority, I want to still make sure that I have time to do things I am passionate about. This has been my creative outlet for the past couple of years, so I want to make sure I can keep this up.
Self-Publish One Book by the End of the Year
Last year, one of my goals was to self-publish my second book. Although, I didn’t accomplish that last year, I did work on creating ideas for it. I have a few stories for it and I want to make it into a series. Here’s a little sneak peek: My story is about a Korean-American girl and her life. Her name is Kara Nabi (나비) Hwang. The first story in the series is going to be about a special message and gift that helps her through a school assignment. 👀😊 In order to keep myself accountable, I am going to upload a blog post in a few months about my progress with the book… we’ll see how it goes! 🙃

Do a Seasonal Photoshoot
Another one of my goals that I didn’t get to do last year was doing a photoshoot every month. It gets kind of crazy with a school/work schedule, so I am modifying it this year. I want to have a seasonal photoshoot, which amounts to 4 photoshoots for the year. This allows me to have some more guidance with the type(s) of photoshoot I want to do, which will hopefully motivate me to get in more photoshoots for this year. I want to continue to fuel my passion for photography and have some direction with it.
Resolution
Maintain Work-Life Balance
Maintaining a work-school-life balance is very important. I’ve been in the “burnout” state a few times last year with work and it really discouraged me. The California girls trip helped me reset and showed me how important it is to take care of yourself. One thing I want to do is take Sunday off from doing any school work. This can help create boundaries and allows me to take a break. Another thing I want to work on is doing something fun outside of my typical routine. Whether that be exploring a new town or getting food with some friends, it allows me to change my environment a little bit. My goal is do something at least once a month.
Exercise More
I want to incorporate more movement in my lifestyle. The career path I am currently on usually doesn’t require too much movement, so I need to put in extra work to move around some more. I think one way to do that is to hit at least 10,000 steps per day. And if you know any easy, fun exercise ideas, PLEASE let me know!
Continue to Drink More Water
Another one of my resolutions from last year was to drink more water. Overall, I did better with drinking more water (confession: I would drink more water so I could take more breaks at work 🙃 hey, you gotta do what you gotta do). I heard somewhere that you need to drink at least half your weight in ounces of water (please don’t quote me on this… I’m not a water expert!). The water bottle I’ve been using for the last six months is a 32 oz. bottle, which you can find here. If I fill it up at twice, that’ll be about half my weight. So my goal is to drink at least two water bottles full of water! Here’s to a hydrated QUEEN! 👑
I hope everyone has a great New Year! Let me know what your goals and resolutions are for 2023.
XOXO
