Behind the Scenes: Swetha’s Classical Indian Concert Photography

Hello friends! 👋 I want to share a fun event that I got to document for a wonderful friend from high school. Swetha reached out a few weeks ago to tell me that she will be performing at a classical Indian concert event. We got on a FaceTime call, got to catch up on the last seven years(!!!), and talked about her performance and the timeline of the event. Take a look at the images from the classical Indian concert event.

The performance took place in a local Northern Virginia middle school. By the time I made it to the location, the crew was finishing up with the setup. The performers were working on sound checks and rehearsals for a few minutes. There was also a sweet little setup by the entrance for guests as they arrived.

The performance consisted of vocals (by Swetha), accompanied by a violinist and a mridangam (Indian percussion instrument) player. Right after the performance, there was a moment for Swetha to make a speech to honor the people who have supported her over the years. There was a time for Swetha to take blessings from her elders and teacher on the stage as well.

After the performance, the guests (and myself!!!) got to eat some yummy Indian cuisine. I also got to see some other high school friends at the event, so it was fun getting to catch up with everyone!

Here are some linked products I used during the photoshoot:

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II SLR Lens

Canon 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM Lens

This was such a fun classical Indian concert event. It was great getting to be a part of a friend’s performance. Congrats, Swetha! If you’re interested in booking and collaborating with me, contact me here.
