I am loving the spring weather lately! The sunshine, the beautiful flowers, and the outside world! I did some quick portraits at Burnside Farms in Nokesville, VA, with their terrific tulips. According to Farmer Mike, there have been about 2 million tulip bulbs that bloomed this season. It was beautiful to see! At Burnside Farms, we were able to pick out flowers to take home (5 were free with our tickets, but you could get additional flowers for around $0.50-$1.00 per flower). We were also able to choose our own baskets to collect the flowers. Take a look at some of the images below.
Adriana
We started off with Adriana’s portraits. She was so happy to see the flowers, which you can tell by her bright smile! 😄 Her pastel purple cardigan also added another element of “spring” to her photos. I feel like anything “pastel” makes it feel like spring. 💜 We found a patch of tulips that had a mix of different colors. Adriana found some tulips that were a beautiful ruby red to add to her bouquet of flowers.
Luce
Luce really liked the patch of yellow tulips, so we went over there. 💛 The monochromatic colors are absolutely gorgeous! For Luce’s outfit, she opted for a cute and cozy white cardigan jacket, which adds such a bright touch to the photos. She found a nice mix of the classic primary color tulips for her bouquet. Quick tip: When you’re photographing a basket of flowers, make sure you ask your model to have the bouquet facing towards the camera, so you can showcase the stunning florals.
Valeria
Valeria had a super cute spring dress on for her session! These tulips have a beautiful mix of red, orange, and yellow… My name for this color is the “Peach Mango” tulips. 🧡 Valeria also collected a variety of colored tulips for her bunch.
